Abstract

The average students are still less to communicate in speaking English who can speak English fluently can not even speak English to communicateat all people because of the lack of controlled coversation, as evidenced when the teacher instructed to introduce themselves each one in front ofthe class, they are much speechless confusion can not even speak English at all. The Objective of this research isto know the teaching and learning of speaking by using short conversation at the tenth grade of SMA Negeri 1 Takisung school Year 2017/2018.Subject of the research is students at tenth grade of SMA Negeri 1 Takisung school Year 2017/2018. To collect data the researcher uses some techniques namely: observation, interview, document. Descriptive qualitative design is used because the researcher tries to describe in teaching and learning of speaking in using short conversation at the tenth grade of SMA Negeri 1 Takisung school.The result Students in this school know if english language is very important for their future and teacher in this school allways remember the student to countinue lesson english language. Student fells happy if short conversation topic talk about hot issue in this country or about sport because it talk the real thing. Based on description after analyze data, the writer make some conclusion as follows: 1) The use of short conversation in teaching and learning at tenth grade of SMA Negeri 1 Takisung school is fairly good. 2) Student fells more fun when teaching and learning speaking with short conversation, because they can learned with joke, so they able accept the subject matter more easy.
