Abstract

Writing is an activity to create a record or information. Writing usually done on paper by using tools such as a pen or pencil. But with the development of technology as it is today, writing can also be done by using a computer or laptop. Aspects of writing in English is very important to control the student. Procedure text is a text that is designed to describe how something is achieved through a sequence of actions or get something done or get somewhere or steps for give purpose (genre text). The Goal of Activity, Any Material Needed for Procedure, Steps to Achieve the goal, Conclusion. The affectiveness of using picture series in teaching writing procedure text at the ninth grade of MTs Al-Huda Banjarmasin to prove that the students with using media more effective, more interested in support and motivasi from the students in learning English. The research is quantitative because the researcher wants prove the effectiveness of using picture series in teaching writing procedure text at the ninth grade of MTs Al-Huda Banjarmasin is more effective. From the finding above of the 35 students who investigated in pre test there were all students in class IXA who received in KKM (70) low score 21-40, are 3 students 9% with category “Poor”, 41-60 are 30 students 86% with category “Average”, and highest score 61-80 are 2 students 6% with category “Good”, but after treatment and post test who received in KKM (70) lowest score 41-60 are 5 students 14% with category “Average”, 61-80 are 29 students 83% with category “Good”, and higest score 81-100 is a student with category “Excellent”. And, in the post test have score 70,00 for mean, 7,408 for standart deviation, while in pre test who taught without using picture series have score 49,34 for mean and 7,312 for standart deviation. So this would proven the effectiveness of using picture series which as media in teaching writing by English teacher in school MTs Al –Huda especially the teacher who teaches in class IXA can be seen from the results of students in writing procedure text is more effective.
