Abstract
Microteaching is an exercise to apply basic teaching skills. A chemistry teacher candidate will be more adept to apply basic teaching skills if able to evaluate each other with peer.The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of the application of peer assessment on the performance of students microteaching. This research was conducted in the lecture for the course Learning Chemistry Strategy for the students of Islamic University of Kalimantan MABfifth grade of the academic year 2016/2017. This study is a quasy experimental research. Research design in this study is the Nonequivalent Control Group Design. Data was collected using pre-test questions and assessment of performance microteaching questionnaire. The sampling technique in this study is Cluster sampling. Data were analyzed using Mann-Whitney U by SPSS 16.0 for Windows. The results of the research showed there are effect of peer assessment tostudent’s microteaching performance in course oflearning chemistry strategies. Student’s microteaching performance in the experimental class is higher than the student’s microteaching performance in the control class.
